Rolling Auditions for A New Community Choir
We are excited to announce the creation of a community choir drawing from the incredible talent of the North Brooklyn.

The Bushwick Generator, powered by SUN, is a community oriented—and most importantly, community-led—neighborhood innovation lab in Brooklyn. We are home to artists-in-residence and Pandemic relief programs.
ABOUT THE CHOIR LEADER
Faith-based music leader and community leader, Shanequa Lewis, will be leading this community choir with Sustainable United Neighborhoods/SUN Arts at the Bushwick Generator.
She began serving in the community as an elementary student and has been singing since a young age. She loves to uplift and unite with others to enhance positivity. A committed church member, she led her congregation's children's choir, adult choir and united choir.
She sees singing as a spiritual release, or expression that heals the self, as well as others. She believes that spirituality is needed in this world for all people to be united! This is an opportunity you don't want to miss but be part of.
She asks WHAT'S YOUR EXPRESSION? WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR OR SEE IT!

Community Cleanup this Friday, Dec 11th! We will be tending to the streets between Bogart St and Graham Ave of Brooklyn.

This year, we are joining the Graham Avenue BID with participating area businesses, and other community partners to present a safe & socially-distanced Halloween celebration along Brooklyn’s Avenue of Puerto Rico.

9/11 National Day of Service @Bushwick Houses
On a day of solemn remembrance, we demonstrate the unifying power of a Brooklyn community coming together as part of the 9/11 National Day of Service. The residents of Bushwick Houses and local community partners invite you to spend this Patriot Day volunteering with us.
Volunteer teams will be distributing food & PPE, conducting outreach for the creation of an urban farm at the development, and participating in beautification activities in and around NYCHA's Bushwick Houses.
